This was so great, and so enlightening. I nearly cried in the Van Gogh museum when i was reading the words the brothers wrote each other, how much love they had for each other - but i feel like they failed to fully highlight how important Johanna was in all of this.
So often the women behind successful men are forgotten. The paintings are Vincent’s legacy but her untiring efforts are the gift she made to their legacy!

The correspondence between the two brothers is incredible. Theo died of grief 6 months after Vincent.
